i'm usually not up for the Sunday morning jerkoff session that some here like to do, but i felt that sense of "this team if for real" last night, so i am breaking one of my cardinal rules today....

the scary part is that this team, right now, is nowhere near how good they can/will be.... i mean, we still have a passing game to gel, a running game that will gain even more steam, and a defense that is, while very fast and talented, are still have Similac on their breath....

now, of course, all teams across the land could say this, but with our youth and off the field personnel problems forcing our hand at a major position of need, our best is very much ahead of us....

and that's the exciting part, because as good as we were last night, we are going to be even better tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.....

Yep. Best part about last night was that LSU was just plain awful in some areas of play but still took Oregon to the woodshed physically and won. All teams are a work in progress but few have the upside that this one does. Everything that could have gone wrong for this team in the off-season did go wrong but they still showed up and drilled a good team. There are going to be some bumps in the road this season (many due to the schedule), but this team ought to be outstanding late in the year.

oh, and the coaching was good last night, but it also will get better... Stud, while he has OC experience, is getting his first "real" crack at big boy coaching and Miles tends to get better with clock issues and personnel rotations as the season goes on....

If we can stay healthy we should be in good shape to have a great season. I was very impressed with the tackling out in space. The passing game needs some work but hopefully we will stay healthy and progress.

0 INT... looks fine to me... the WR's out there are extremely young, and this was probably the biggest game they've been in, to date.... large butterflies last night i'm sure... they'll get better...

Lee looked sharp... he still throughs off that back foot at times, but overall he looks much improved and more confident in himself....
