It was an admirable attempt, but would be like me challenging myself to have sex with something other than my left hand tonight: it just isn't going to happen.

Hargrove isn't good enough to make the team right now, IMO.

We already waived Bussey, so that frees up an extra spot. Maybe we go with Tennant as the one backup C/G, because I'm pretty sure we can be that de la plenta or whatever guy to the PS. Clint Ingram? We could carry 6 linebackers because Dunbar could play either side in a pinch. Hargrove plays special teams as well.

They only carried 3 DTs last season. Ellis, Rogers, and Franklin are guarantees, and Johnson is tweeting that he made the team. I don't see them carrying 5 DTs, especially since both Jordan and Turk are capable of filling in.

If you look at my earlier post, I said to bring him in to play DE. Would keeping 6 DE's be crazy? You could just look at him as a defensive lineman along with Jordan and McBride. It would give us more flexibility and allow us to keep everyone fresh.

So 4 total interior OL and 5-6 DTs?

dlP not PS eligible is a big reason why he might get on the 53

If they end up keeping Ingram it will be cuz they think he will play. Never an issue with what he has in ability. Another GW protege.

Hargrove was a nice '09 story but not near the impact last year. No word that there was even any offer to him from the saints this year.

No, but he isn't really a DE for us. Excluding 3-4 alignments, he played DE, what, MAYBE a handful of plays over his two years with us.

I know that, but he can play DE. Let's put it this way: would you rather bring him back or Alex Brown? We could bring in a new guy, but he would have to learn the defense. It just makes sense to me.

They don't really need to bring in anyone. For better or worse, we can get by with the 4 we have for the first two games (Turk, Juneyah, Jordan, Charleston) before Smith comes back. 5 DEs is pretty typical. Plus they only PUPed Romeus. They may expect him to contribute some later in the season.

with THRILL, you're making a case that has already been proven to not be here. If they thought he could have done some effective DE they would have.

Can't see him moving any of the top 5 DEs or DTs either.

I don't think he would be a world beater at DE. I just want more depth that's all. Shucks.
