What company makes the best offshore CC right now? Kind of a juvenile question admittedly in that there are several companies that make great boats (Seavee, Yellowfin, Regulator, Contender, Invicible, Jupiter, etc.). With that being said, who makes the best and why? Thanks

Regulator

Heaviest.

ETA: As you approach 40 feet I think SeaVee gets the nod.

Contender holds a lot of fish and rides really good. Yellowfin holds a lot of gas but not as much fish. Fountain and invincible are just really fast. Regulator is a heavy boat and rides pretty good. How big you looking?

I don't think there is much difference between any of those. It will all come down to personal preference and what you are particularly looking for in a boat.

That will completely depend on each situation IMHO. There are so many good ones and what's to say that a Regulator with Mercs is better than a Regulator with Yamahas?

Go Venture 34, Regulator, or Cape Horn

One of my dad's best friends has a 32' SeaVee, I've fished in it a hand full of times, it's a sweet boat. That being said, I'm enamored with almost any boat bigger than 29' .

I saw some Jupiters for sale in Orange Beach over the summer, very nice looking boat IMO.

Other than looks, I don't know much about offshore boats...I'd take any of them if I could afford one.

I was on a Pursuit a few months ago... was very impressed. I know many on the OB are not big on taking the misses fishing... but, the boat I was on was great for fishing, family time, and taking out a client that "wants to get on the water". The boat handled open water great both with seas at the bow and trailing. Also, I really liked the hard top.

Pursuit ST310

For those that think that ST is too "cushy" - they do have a true CC model that is 'strictly fish'.

Pursuit C310

If I lived closer to the coast - I'd have one for sure. But for now, I'm stuck on Lake Travis.

That boat (Kimbuktu) is for sale on SeaVee's website...just a cool $349,000.

LINK

ETA: This another of my favorite offshore rigs. Though I'd HATE to get the thing dirty. (NOTE: my opinions are based on looks alone )

And if I was OT rich I would buy it.

It is ridiculous...

That's a shame, I'd have loved to have one built someday.

Yeah, I've been told that they make one of the best offshore boats, Gravois partnered/created Metal Shark which is what they operate as nowadays.

A regulator with Yamahas is definitely better than a regulator with mercs, unless keeping your boat in the shop is your thing.
