Nothing more I love than seeing a delayed safety blitz or cornerback blitz and getting a big hit on the QB.
With Oregon's offense and as wide open as it is do you think we will keep our secondary back for the most part or do you think we might see Chavis send em?
I think if we could hit the QB one good time he might be a little hesitant to send one of his passes to the middle and leave his receivers out to dry.
I know there are lots of LSU/Oregon threads but I didn't see one to put this in. Sorry if I missed one but I'm sure if I did the great people here on the Rant will quickly point out my mistake.

What I'm curious about is who will blitz more? Oregon or LSU. And can Lee take a hit? Will he put it up for grabs over the middle?

Regarding who blitzes more, potentially Oregon. I think we will run more stunts to be disruptive up front.

But by the end of the game you will have gone through emotions ranging from hate to respect regarding our most potent blitzer...TM7.

Well you know Mathieu and Baker are gonna get after him a few times. But with their speed and big play ability, we might blitz a little less than normal. Might also depend on how much penetration our DL is getting.

You might see a couple but with oregons speed and their spreadout I doubt we will keep taking chances like that..Kelly will get us on one. However with 6 Dbs on the field and a front as fast as we have we can take chances like that. Only person Im really worried about is James.....As for Thomas I dont think hes going to be able to get comfortable back there and use his legs with as fast as our defense is.

Ive only seen lee take one big hit and he was fine but yeah thats a good question.

This is absolutely the truth! Someone's got to give a Farley type performance for LSU to break the Oregon offense down. Without that happening, someones got to send the blitz and hope for the best.

Not sure. Chavis sure seemed to want to play a lot of at home base type of defense against Auburn, which people will disagree on - our tackling was bad, so the idea may have have been ok if we had tackled better.

Against Oregon, it seems like Cal had success by blitzing the LBs. Auburn seemed to be more of a DL thing.

I'm thinking with our DBs and Oregons unproven WR, we'll probably see a good amount of blitzing, and I hope we do. I'm a big fan of forcing the action rather than reacting.

Oregon might even send a Scout out for Ty mat after how productive he was last year.....Not sure if Oregon has a answer for montgomery though.

This is gonna open up alot for Mo Cla

Our DC Aliotti isn't much of a blitzer. Pi$$es off lots of fans. Oregon will blitz but it's not a big part of there plan. I hope LSU does blitz a lot, that will open up play for our TE/WR's. Oregon does a lot of crossing routes and if you blitz us were gettin open accross the middle. As far as Darron taking a hit, he got hammered quite often in the NC game. He can take a hit.

Truth! Him and Mingo coming off the edge will be dangerous if they don't go all Rahim Alem on us.

ailotti may have changed his blitzing game plan...With JJ I dont think he would have blitz to much..Jlee I think he is going to try and get in his head......This is either going to make us or break us...Geaux tigers
