Does anyone have the statistics on the avg. yds per rush for RBs when Jarrett Lee was QB last year? From what I remember we ran the ball extremely well when he was QB last year.

I dont recall JL running the ball past the line of scrimmage not one time last season. Could be mistaken though and might've missed a play.

In games where he played the most like UF, ULM, and McNeese the yards per carry was pretty average.

I recall Lee running smart and picking up nice gains nearly every time that he decided to run.

I know what you are referring to, and it was Les' claim that we ran the ball better when JJ was in the game versus Lee in the UT and UF games.

Anyone who looked at the stats saw it was complete bullshite, because even with JJ's rushes, it was equal or better under Lee than JJ.

The reading comprehension on this board isn't very good.

My hope is that Lee has vastly improved under Krags. If this is the case, our RB's will have a field day.

He was always very accurate over the last 2 seasons. This is one thing we never really had with JJ. Who knows if he would have been more on target than in the past. But now it's Lee's time. I'm gonna back him 100%.

to General Lee

i like JL too. JJ was taking way too many rushes and taking carries away from the RB's. Sure JJ had a few nice runs, but I like our chances more with the RB's carrying it.

If you look at the UF game for Ridley, he got the following with JJ in at QB:

38 yards on 14 carries or 2.7 yards/carry

With Lee in:
48 yards on 14 carries or 3.4 yards/carry.

Ridley didn't seem to suffer with Lee at QB against a legit defense.

It's one of my biggest concerns.

Is that true if you take away the long run against Vandy late in the 4th quarter?

I'd bet that we were a better running team with JJ the majority of the time.

This is my natural inclination as well but I don't feel like running the numbers.

Teams stacked the box against the run big time almost every play against LSU when JJ was QB.

he could've left out the RB part and made the post ambiguous. either that or it is late and i wasnt paying attention to what i was reading. either case, who cares.

In the UT game, it was better under JJ.

Against UF, when LSU started calling the plays for LEE that were his strength from the get go (not just the last second drive) and once UF realized it had to respect Lee, it was this even including JJ's runs for his people.

Under JJ = 29 carries for 77 yards. That's 2.65 yards per carry.

Under Lee = 17 carries for 80 yards. That's 4.71 yards per carry.

Take out JJ's runs since there weren't any for Lee it and the RBs/Shepard numbers are:

17 for 80 yards under Lee at 4.71 ypc
18 for 35 yards under JJ at 1.94 ypc

It's more than double under Lee, and this was against a very good UF defense.

Now JJ had 11 carries for 42 yards, so he gives us something definitely, but the others suffered against a strong defense.

Again, this is just looking at a game where Lee was in during non-garbage time. Looking at Auburn is pointless since they only ran 5 rushing plays under Lee and 26 under JJ.
