If you are not allowed to play for your original D-1 team, you cant just transfer to another D-1 team/school and also get to play immediately. But you can transfer down a 1/2 level to D-1 AA (officially known now as football championship subdivision)or D II and play immediately.
The import of the post is that somehow, he will end up playing a senior year at a lower division.
