It kinda helps simplify things doesn't it? I mean now we can focus on RB running and QB throwing.

We just better hope the O-Line holds up. Otherwise, we'll see more of what we saw in '08.

No. We will still see the option. Only now with a guy slower than me at QB.

WTF are you talking about?

Lee is a mobile QB. He is similar to Favre in that aspect.

We don't beat Tenn, Alabama, or Florida without him last year. They guy can make big time throws.

And 20lbs lighter than last year. It's kind of a coin flip, right? A slow QB who can execute the option vs. a much faster QB who has no idea how to execute the option.

I don't mean he is completely immobile, I just mean he won't be dashing every other play when they bring the pressure

I heard he'd lost some weight, and got in much better shape. I saw him and Metts take off in the Spring game, and was a little surprised, actually. Both are able with their feet, nothing spectacular, but will chew up a few yards if needed.

I agree with this. I was just answering the OP question about mobility (or lack thereof).

That's what I am afraid of, actually.

Lee moves in the pocket well, his knock is on what he does when pressured.

3rd downs are going to be an adventure, unless he has worked out the kinks in his head.

I think the option crap was the wizards doing. He's no longer here. Lack of mobility is never a good thing, but I think our O-line is as good as it's been since 07 so he won't be running for his life like he had to in 08.

Yea for the fans and D coordinators. I would say "you can't be this stupid" but this is the Rant.

If last years alabama game is an indication, I'm good with him on third down. He found a streaking Randle in stride after the pattern was broken off for a huge gain.

To answer the OP, I think this will give us an identity that we have been lacking. I formation, run the ball with a great stable of backs, mixing in play action to keep the defense honest. Downhill football.

Let's hope so anyway......

This

I hope JL plays awesome but my biggest concern is how he panics when a play breaks down. Also if he does stay in the pocket will he be able to take the abuse.

I think our key to win this games lies in the O-line

I am hoping Krags identified this. . .

. . .but yeah, that's where I've been with this kid since 08.

Don't get wrong, I HATED the option with JJ. He's not a running QB. He never looked comfortable running. The one thing he could do though is scramble for a first down if needed because he does have decent speed at the position.

I think this could be a blessing in disguise, if the Oline does there job. An more north/south running game and vertical passing game. I think running right at OR while taking long shots down field is the best plan imho.

This is the key with JLee. And you are spot on, the kinks are in his head, always have been.
