Do any of yall believe that chavis has finally learned to scheme against spread offenses? Last year, ole miss and auburn ran all over us. I hope chavis has changed things up a bit. Of course, some of that could have been due to youth on our defense.

One question - How does this relate to the bar fight?

On the one hand, thanks for starting a thread that has nothing to do with a dumb-arse bar fight. On the other hand, learn to use the search function.....

I love when this is your only response to these threads. Giving up 440 yards rushing to Auburn is fine because we beat MSU and WVU.

How many points did WVU and MSU score last year against LSU and what was their season average point per game. Go look those up, post them and then tell me again that he doesn't know what he is doing.

Better yet, since you are such a highly sought after defensive genious, you tell me how to defend the spread.

Oh and be very specific with you answer because saying that you need to load up the box and play man is not good enough. I want specific techniques, alignment, coverages, responsibilities and such.

And don't make it just one. I need you to provide a few fronts and coverages so we can see that you know more about defending the spread than Chavis.

I hate people that think they are smarter than the coaches.

Saban would have never let this happen.

Go back and watch the Auburn game again. There were guys in position to make plays on Newton all day. Missed tackles still reflect poorly on Chavis as DC but the scheme was fine, lack of execution was the killer.

WVU, State, and Florida all run the spread and i think we can agree that our defense was top notch for those games. No conclusion can be drawn when we played our best and worst against spread offenses.

Don't question the chief.

CroTiger, thanks for the immature response douche. I was simply asking people's opinion and wanting to talk about something other than this dumb bar fight. But hey, thanks for being the "Cool guy".

I agree also that many players were in position last year to make plays. I believe one offseason to get bigger, stronger, and faster will vastly help this stout defense. Also, moving Hatcher to MLB was a really good move which I think will show significant results. I would like us to be able to stop off-tackle runs more this season.
