A friend has a severe seafood allergy where they can't go to a restaurant that serves any because the smell of cookinfish triggers a reaction.

Any suggestions for nola restaurants that serve no seafood at all? Tough I know.

The only one I can think of is port of call. Any others?

It sounds awful. I was told they used to go to charlies steakhouse until they added a tuna to the menu.

I've heard of allergies from eating seafood but not from smelling it.

never heard of the smell triggering allergy.. wonder if being on a lake, pond, etc. has any effect, or, does cooking have to happen?

Not sure on that. I would imagine cooking has to happen. I have never heard of anything like it though.

Anyone have restaurant suggestions?

YOur friend has a phobia, not an allergy.

I think that is a legitimate possibility. However, I am not close enough to suggest that, and say just get over it.

I merely wanted to offer a few restaurant suggestions. Maybe getting out in restaurants where there is no seafood would be a good start to move past the phobia.

I got nothing other than the new burger places. Or a bar that serves food like Cure, Delachaise, Bouligny Tavern?
