Another far fetched idea but why not.
Make 3 divisions:
West - aTm, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mss State
Central - Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Vandy, UGA
East - Florida, SC, Kentucky, whoever(Clemson), whoever(Vatech)

Division winners plus wildcard have a 4 team playoff. Also you could play your inner division opponents each year and half the other teams that way you could get a home and away with all teams over a 4 year cycle. SEC started the championship game, why not start the miniplayoff. TV revenue and games would be fantastic.

I am sure it won't happen but it would be pretty sweet.

The revenue from the first two playoff games (prior to the SEC championship) could be a game-changer. All of America would watch this.

You'd have to cut the conference schedule to 7 games. That's one less game of revenue for all of the schools who don't make the playoff.

Nice thought though.

I doubt that would ever happen, but would be awesome and no doubt a cash cow.

Maybe if the SEC keeps dominating the BCSNCG, they can pull in a few more teams and have their own league.

I really wouldn't mind only 7 or 8 conference games and not play everyone over a 4 year stretch, maybe over a 6 year. It would keep more teams in play later in the year like the NFL and MLB. Revenue and TV could be off the charts.
