It's a strange place to be. You have to have a want to go there, it's not just any old college. The military influence and such generally gives some kids a cause for concern...


Now A&M can get athletes, don't get me wrong...But they either have to WANT to go there, or it's the best place that the athlete got a offer from...

the point of it is Prom is LSU will be fine and any LSU fan being concerned about recruiting cause A&M comes to the SEC is a big vagina

If A&M gets into the SEC, that allows them to sell themselves to recruits better than what they were able to do when they were in the Big 12. If you haven't noticed, we do recruit a good bit of players out of Texas, Houston area mostly. Adding A&M to the SEC doesn't exactly help us sweep into Katy, Spring or Humble and throw out a pitch about our conference when another SEC school is in Houston's backyard.

Plus, A&M just doesn't fit into the southEASTERN conference culture. Texas has a culture of its own which we all know is more of superiority complex than anything else.

Texas A&M doesn't bring enough to the table for me to like the move. What they fail to realize is that no matter what conference they're in, they will always be looked at as #2 to their older brother UT, by fans and recruits.

As the Big 12/10 seemingly dissolves like the old Southwestern conference, I can see why Texas A&M would want to jump ship to the SEC because it makes sense geographically. They won't jump down to the Conference USA, but it seems like the SEC is more of a battered womens' shelter for A&M after the "abuse" they felt from UT than a mutual move for both A&M and the SEC.

No, me nor the original poster are having trouble sleeping over this; I havent even really thought about it TBH. But regardless of how few players we pick up in Texas, A&M joining the SEC does not help.
They can pitch the SEC and Texas pride bit to in state recruits, and i bet A&M competes with UT in recruiting more now. Its not the fact that you have a differing opinion, its just that you express it like a bleeding little 13 year old girl.

They pitch Texas pride to recruits now. And some of those recruits buy that and others look at them like they are freaks.

If you think LSU cannot out-recruit A&M than say so and move on. I don't think that is the case.

eta: fastedLSU, that is correct. Aggie add to the conference in both basketball and football and of course eyeballs. Many in this thread, including Nico, only see how it affects LSU football, I guess because that's all they have to enjoy in their lives
