Never knew he was from napoleonville.... Was he a late bloomer or did he have some problems?

Why did LSU not get him??

He was never going to qualify out of high school and when he came out of JUCO we were stacked at RB.

Saban wanted him to play LB, he wanted to play RB.

I think grades may have caused us to back off on his recruiting.

And AU took a shot at him. I will say he made it alot farther than I thought he would.

I went to school with "Toby" at Assumption High. He wasn't the brightest in the classroom & he ended up having to go to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas.

He wasn't a late bloomer at all. He was a beast & I was really sorry for some of our oppenents when they were trying to tackle him. He was the size of a grown man back in high school.

I spoke to him after he committed to Auburn & asked him why he didn't go to LSU. He told me that Saban wanted him to play tight end & that Auburn would allow him to play HB. I told him I thought it was a poor decision because Auburn already had Ronnie Brown & Carnell Williams but he insisted he would see the field. A year later he ended transferring.

BTW, the real late bloomer from Assumption was Tramon Williams. He was good in high school but no one expected him to turn into the player that he has become with Green Bay.

Does he still own the record for most rushing yards in a single season in the state of LA?

I was in high school while he played at Assumption and I remember watching Friday night football highlights after our games to see what kind of ridiculous numbers he had put up. I can remember regularly he'd have over 200-250 in the first half of games. I believe that year he ran for somewhere north of 2500 yards and was chasing the state record. Not sure if he broke it but he was def not a late bloomer, just not very intelligent.
