Newest rumor is that the A's Andrew Bailey has moved to the top of the Rangers wish list.

San Diego wants a lefty (Holland or Erlin (AA)) more than likely. That could stymie the deal for Bell.

I just know it's clear to everybody that their bullpen is a disaster right now and they need help if they are going to win the division and get back to the Series.

it'l be interesting to see if the Angels make a move for Bell to keep him away from the Rangers. if i were the GM of the Halos that would be my move. along with getting a 3B. otherwise Texas will run away with that division.

I can't see the Rangers running away with it simply because of the Angels pitching staff.

Not clear, but I can beat Beane is going to go after those same names. Holland is popping up a lot.

Why? Has Neftali really been that terrible this year?

Uh...you bullpen needs more than Neftali. And, Neftali has been "off" as of late.

Angels need a SP, RP, and 3B and have at least publicly said that they want a RP more than a 3B.

Jimenez FTW!!!

Bailey would be the set up guy.

He isn't "off", he just hasn't been as dominate as last year.

We will have to agree to disagree here.

You cannot have consistent success in the MLB with one pitch. He cannot locate, nor does he have command of, his secondary stuff. That is why he has two more blown saves this year than last and we are barely half way through the season.

As a long-suffering Orioles fan married to a fanatical Rangers fan, I want to see the Rangers trade Chris Davis for Koji Uehara. Rangers get a righty for the pen they deseprately need, CD gets a fresh start in charm City. I think CD is just a guy who needs to hit the reset button on his career. It's a deal that helps both teams, and both players involved, which means that it will never happen.

I like that proposal, Baloo. I think it would help out both teams.

Jon Heyman from SI just tweeted that he thinks Bell is the #1 option for the Rangers. Obviously there is a lot of smoke. So that must mean the Rangers will trade for someone within the next 48 hours.

I would be VERY surprised if the Rangers don't make any deals.

The Rangers have to get bullpen help. I mean, the pen is awful right now. Which is why I would rather give up something small to get a setup guy then pay through the nose for an "established closer". Because then you have a problem with Feliz -- does getting Bell, which certainly means a demotion, ruin Neftali's confidence?

I would rather Bailey, personally. I also like Clippard, too.

I actually worry about the opposite view. How would going to 7th or 8th inning guy work for Bell? Can he adjust to that role? (Remember when the Rangers traded Gagne to Boston? That was a disaster for the BoSox).

It'll be interesting for sure who the Rangers trade. As long as Martin, Perez, Profar and Scheppers stay out of any trades for BP help, I'll be happy. It seems like the Padres are asking for too much for Bell.

Looks like the Rangers might be in on Thorton and Danks of the Chi Sox...Holland would be included in the deal. They are still talking.

No resolution to the Heath Bell situation. Rangers appear to be in the lead.

Holland isn't getting traded after today's performance. Dude is catching fire lately.

Now tied with Cliff Lee for most complete game shutouts this season.

No way in hell they trade him, unless it was for someone like King Felix or Ubaldo (which neither would ever happen)
