Should Louisiana Athletes, Coaches, LSU and other State Colleges and Universities be offended that LHSAA and LHSCA kept Alabama Softball Coach Patrick Murphy on the Coaches Clinic agenda for softball as a guest speaker. I know that Patrick Murphy is a very good coach, and our coaches benefited from his appearance, but for some reason it just doesn't seem that it was the right thing to do in the wake of the recent search for a LSU Softball Coach and his actions. I'm sure this will get comments on both sides, but I was wondering how others feel about it. I believe that Patrick Murphy offered to back out, but was encouraged to still come.

Murphy's actions were embarrassing. I certainly wouldn't want him to speak at any gathering that I went to.

To compare him to Alleva is flat stupid.

Joe Alleva accepted the Tennessee job and then held a televised press conference only to change his mind the next day?

Did you ever think he was scheduled to speak long before he committed the switch?

You know, I never thought about that. But the fact that he spoke period and then changed his mind speaks volumes of that pussy's character.

Well, as long as they know that the guy is lying whenever his lips are moving, I guess it's OK. The way he jerked LSU around to end of taking more money from Bama and its Boosters is total bush league and I look forward to sweeping the Gumps again when they come to Tiger Park next year! Geaux Lady Tigers!

He was only sticking to his word to speak which he agreed to in February. At least he didn't change his mind back out.

i hold the same sentiment as you, but unfortunately, we will be in tuscaloosa this upcoming season. we swept them at Tiger Park this year.

and they way these things are planned out, i'm sure they invited him long before he accepted and backed out of the LSU job. Alleva seems to have talked with Tennessee and came to an informal agreement. Tennessee made the mistake of leaking the information.

it's close, but a stretch to say Alleva pulled a Pat Murphy. Alleva never held a press conference and said how happy he was to be in Knoxville.

I had to open up this thread to see who the f*ck Pat Murphy was. It's girls softball, who gives a stinking pile of crap. It wouldn't exist if the gov't didn't force it down our throats and into the wallet of the LSU football fans.

STFU, if it's softball, and you don't like it, then don't post. As a father with girls that play softball, that loves LSU, and dreams of wearing P&G like their dad, I care!!! I contribute more to football than you can imagine, but LSU is a school, not a professional football team. As a school, we have more than one sport, and we give young girls an opportunity to bleed P&G. Although some of the young ladies fit the lesbian stereotype, the majority of them are the exact person you would want your daughter to grow up and emulate, or your son to bring home to meet his parents. Especially the girls I know at the collegiate level. These girls are driven, ambitious, intelligent, and athletic, but mostly, they are some of the best people you could meet. So quit making such narrow minded comments numbnuts.

Exactly, the parents care, it's a minor sport that because of ridiculous Title IX universities are forced to spend absurd amounts of money on. Jumbo-trons, expensive parks, far-flung tournaments, none of which enhance the game. All money thrown to the wind to appease regulations.

Enjoy yourself, someone else is paying the bills.
