Pick your 2011 Unsung Hero and list why. Can't be an obvious choice, JJ, etc. Has to be someone who needs to show up big in his own way but may not be one of the so called 'star' players. He may not ever score a single point.

My choice- Will Blackwell. Will is a great player and is key to keeping the O-line gelled and together. I think we have the chance to have the best O-line since 2007, if Will keeps everyone in line we could have a special year.

ETA: Misunderstood your post. Gonna go with Ron Brooks. Good DB, will be a good return guy.

Brockers
We need a DT to step up big in place of Nevis. I think he's the one.

Speck,

You may be right! I just had to check the Tiger Rag depth chart to even see if Downs is expected to start, and Brockers is listed ahead.

I can barely keep up with all this, but I recall Downs looking awful good before injury.

Tharold Simon, he's a great cover corner, has great top speed, bitched Julia Jones on an outside slant in man to man coverage, and had a great cotton bowl performance

Lots of good choices here.

Reid- combined with Matheiu may be the best S/DB tandem in the country
Mingo- if he stays in the backfield he will terrorize QB's and be a 3rd down monster

What about "Papa" Craig Loston? Could be the next coming of Laron.

JLee

still dont believe JJ can or will get it done.. not to mention the injury bug has stayed away from him for the most part since he's been here.

Proved last year he can get it done if called upon.. he is a sr has the expericne.

Will be interesting to see if Freak and Ego break out and become impact players, could be sleepers IMO.

With LSU's defense, I am going to say the punter (Wing, I think).

Again, JJ will be the QB, but with everyone talking about Mett replacing him, etc... people seem to just be writing Lee off. I don't think he'll be a star, but like last year, he'll come in when needed or called upon and make a few big plays for us.
