Dead fish question...

On the beach in Gulf Shores. Hundreds of small dead fish washed up all along the shore with just their heads bitten off.
Any idea?

Apparently there's a zombie fish in Gulf Shores. Hide yo head, hide yo brains, they eatin all of em out here.

Fished near a shrimp boat yesterday 50 miles out of Freeport..tons of dead baby snapper floating on the surface behind it. Seems like they should keep the by-catch to be ground up into some kind of cat food or something..or sell it as bait or something. Either way, that looks like a hard business to be in.
