I like the show but I was shocked it had a second season. A show like this is never going to be a big ratings hit.

Hard to say that when the promos for the show were not that enticing. I never watched either but that's because before it premiered they kept showing the same unappealing promos over and over. Now if those promos actually reflected the better parts of the show, then I can see why it was cancelled.

It's not a promo-friendly show, because there is nothing big/exaggerated/exciting about it.
It's a subtle, nuanced show... the quality of it is the week-to-week progression of the characters... trying to survive their mundane lives.
