...comes over for my WWC party at the start of ET and immediately starts cheering for Japan, I guess to be ironic or something.

When I told him to shut up and watch the game, he says "Why the frick do you care?" I said "because we're Americans" and he retorts with "who fricking cares? Soccer fricking sucks anyway."

So I told him if he felt that way to get the frick out, and he actually goes "are you serious?" So he started screaming "frick YOU!" in my face and left after about 4 mins.

Did I do something wrong here? Or should I have kept quiet and continued letting him being a douche in front of a bunch of people?

Nope, but it seems like he found his way on to about 40 different posters' accounts.

Not at all. I think women's basketball sucks, but I would never go over to someone's house while they're watching the game and start rooting for the other team and telling them the game is stupid at the same time.

If I had friends over for an LSU game and one was being an a-hole and cheering for the other team just to be ironic, I'd tell him to GTFO too.

If said friend was a known fan of opposing team, it would be cool though.

Any athlete that has an American flag on their shirt, man or woman, im going for them

Japan had the tsunami story and its ok to congratulate them afterwards but to cheer for them to beat America? Thats a huge imo

I would have been very tempted to punch him. You call this guy a friend? Sounds like a complete arse.

This. Although I did apparently lose a facebook friend. You know who I'm talking about Boat. And not a single frick was given that day.

It might have been a better idea to pull him aside and tell him that if he wants Japan to win that's fine, but stop being a douchebag about it.

This is kind of what I was wondering about. I had a few beers in me at that point and I shouted him down in front of everyone. Maybe not the best solution. I figured I might've embarrassed him in front of everyone and that's why he got in my face and left.

Either way, I'm glad he didn't hang around. Those who had been here since the start of the match didn't deserve the distraction.

You had a fricktard friend. That's about it, I believe.
