Skip overheated at Cypress Mounds tonight, not sure if he passed out or not. He was given an IV, taken to OLOL in good condition - all according to park manager.

Called LSU and am awaiting official comment. I'll post it along when I get it.

ETA: just got a call from LSU, Michael Bonnette talked to Skip, who said he was getting dizzy, went to the hospital as a precaution, got fluids, doing better and his headed home.

Thanks for the update. Out of curiosity, did you graduate from the AFA?

I was right there when it happened. He was greeting all the kids as they were introduced during opening ceremonies. He walked to the nearby dugout and sat down. A couple of our parents are nurses and got him some water and called EMS as a precaution. He did not pass out, but was close. He was just overcome by the heat. they loaded him in the ambulance and left. Glad to hear that he is fine.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Skip getting hot about a call at first base.

Glad to hear he's ok.
