I'm looking at putting in a pool in my backyard...it is large yard that slopes away from the house.

I believe I'd need to have a retaining wall built and the area below the wall graded for installation of an inground pool. Is that accurate? What sort of ballpark cost-wise would I be looking at for the wall and grading?

You don't want to build the pool on the high side? You could use the cut from the pool to level the high side behind the retaining wall. If you put the pool on the low side, you'll have to haul all of the cut from leveling the yard plus the in ground pool.

Sounds right.

How close will the pool be to your house?
