Now that both Aaron and Austin Nola are expected to be on the team next year, what's our expected lineup and pitching rotation?

I'm gonna hold out on this until we find out how many signees actually make it to campus.

If I had to guess right now I would say
C - Ross
1B - ?
2B - Hanover
SS - Nola
3B - Barrios
LF - Fields
CF - Jones
RF - Katz
DH - Rhymes
First could be anyone...Dozar, Edward, Bruno, or an incoming recruit.
In the rotation:
Gausman
Eades
McCune
Primary relievers:
Rumbelow
Berry
Goody (hopefully he makes it)

Any chance rhymes gets to play a position besides DH?
Maybe LF or 2nd?
Maybe LF or 2nd?

Probably not. Didn't he just have TJ surgery?

Little Nola could be the new closer

I love this idea. With our starting rotation set to be really solid already, why not slot him in for this role and let him get accustomed to pitching at this level, no need to throw him to the wolves this early, especially with the depth we have. Maybe have him close and groom him to replace Gausman (who can leave after this season).

Wouldn't Rittiner be a key reliever?

Rittiner and Bourgeois will play big roles

Bourgeois
Absolutely not. I expect him to either get the boot or Bradshaw'd

Yep, good thinking mg. I'd like to see Nola come in and go freshman Ott mode and just dominate

I hope it's someone more productive than those two.

Bourgeois had the 2nd most starts on the team in 2010. He will contribute if the elbow is healed right.

I think lowery will be in that lineup

Im not sure how hes doing this summer, but I definitely want to see what Rumbelow can do. He seemed to have pretty good stuff when I saw him pitch last year. Also I think Rittner will play a key role in the bullpen.

And was awful. Bradshaw was at one point a starter too, what happened to him?
Bourgeois will be lucky to get a roster spot.

Bourgeois at least had okay stuff, I think he might do okay if used strictly as a reliever.

He was bad in 2010, and is coming off TJ surgery. He will be seeing Bradshaw-like (2011) innings this year. We have better left handers now.

Might be a good thing if he adds velocity.
Also Kevin Berry was pretty bad at UNO and he turned it around for us last year, so it can happen.

His biggest problem just seems to be staying healthy. Seems like he just continues to have nagging injuries. Something (not sure what) shut him down for the summer.
