Anyone have any experience with these? I am looking to get a fishing kayak, and my lady friend likes to fish as well.

I would recommend a 14.5 Ultimate made by Native Watercraft. I own a single 12' and don't have any experience with a tandem but very happy with my single seater.

One of the best features of their tadem is you can remove the front seat and use it as a single when you are going it alone.

My wife asked me why I didn't get a two-seater so she could come with me. I told her that I would buy her one too and she said, "then I'd have to paddle."

Seems like two people fishing out of one would be rough.

It would be rough only when your partner thinks she is going to sit on her arse and eat Bon-bons while you bust a nut paddling both of y'all around. Sounds like you know her well.

I got a Native Ultimate 14.5 tandem last week and have taken it out 3 times.
See this thread for pics.
I love it. I'm not sure who else makes a tandem fishing kayak other than maybe Feel Free. Supposedly you can easily add another seat to the KC Kayak.

It was a little rough with my 12 year old nephew, but not too bad. No doubt it will get easier as we both learn how to fish from a kayak.
As far as paddling, it's no big deal. I paddled my wife and two toddlers around with no help from the wife, and it was easy enough. You're not going to spin it around like you could a 10' kayak, but the extra length is supposed to help with tracking and speed.

I would just get two kayaks. Seems like it would be a lot easier.

I took it out like this Sunday morning for the first time. Worked great. I would rather have the Ultimate 12' if it was just me all the time due to it probably being a bit easier to load and unload, but on the water I can't imagine there's a ton of difference.

Yeah the 12 is a great boat and it meets all my needs.

I have a rudder that is still in it's box, which came with the boat. Not sure if I will install it or sell it.
