Holy Crap. That has to be the worst missed call in the history of soccer. Yes, even worse than Thierry Henry.

Edit: Worst missed handball.

There should be video of it soon after the game.

For those who didn't see it, Australian chick chipped one up over the keeper and off the post, and the African chick just decided to catch it.

No penalty, no card, no nothing.

And play continued. The defender just basically handed the ball to the keeper, then the keeper went to the edge of the 18 and punted it. No one thought that maybe we should stop play and address a defender HOLDING the ball for 2 or 3 seconds...

I tried to watch the video, but I was distracted by the advertisement for "meeting Arab singles" that included Kate Upton.
Okay ESPN just showed the replay, that's absolutely absurd. That may actually be the worst missed call in the history of soccer.

Nope. This is. There's better video out there, but this is what I could find quickly.

My biggest problem with this tourney so far has been the refs. They miss obvious calls, they let crowd noise and player reactions dictate their decisions, and they're terrified of making a big call in a game.

I dunno man, she literally caught the ball and held it for 3 seconds. That would have been a catch in the NFL.

Man that was pretty stupid on part of the player and the ref.

I didn't see anything. Was it when the defender fell near the end line? Not nearly as obvious as the handball in the WWC match.

This has an even closer view of the handball

I can't find the good video (it was a tv station, so they could have had it removed), but Duberry goes to the ground, puts his palm on the ball, moves it, gets up, touches it again and play goes on. That video doesn't show it, but there is a ref standing right there staring at it.

You're just objectively wrong here. That dude fell with his back to the ref and only handled it for a split second.

Today she definitely had the ball, two feet down and made "a football move". Much worse.
