I'm thinking about investing in one. Is this really worth the money? Is there a cheaper equivalent?
I'll hang up and listen.

My buddy got one as a gift and it is nice, works damn well. That said, we both agree we would never buy one. I have a max cold 5 day cooler that keeps ice longer than any average hunting weekend.

Depends what you use it for, if you're icing down beer for the night you probably don't need it

I got one for Christmas last year and I love it.

for most occasions, yes, they are not needed

I would only buy one if I were going to leave it in a boat.

I would not buy one because they are so expensive but they are awesome. My buddy has one on his offshore boat and we don't lose any ice on overnighters

I think it works almost too well, couldn't open the damn thing to get beers out on the boat last weekend. Works great as long as you don't use it as a beer chest.

Ide like to get one as a fish box but just cant justify the money.
Have looked high and low for a used one but hardly ever see them.

It is a bitch trying to open it up to get a drink when you're already worn out from fishing.

It is also a bitch to slide around in truck or boat because of the no slip pads on the bottom But once you get it there its not moving

The last trip I found that if you release the drain plug it makes it easier to open the cooler

Excellent coolers, cost a shite ton of money.
With that said I do not own one and wouldn't spend my money on one.

There are worth their price if you need them, but they are not a beer cooler. $400.00 is not too bad for a cooler if you are spending $1500 on gas to catch tuna and need a lot of ice to keep them cold for 3 days. Plus, they last forever.

Only worth it IMO if you go off the beaten path for 3 or more days at a time. Otherwise, seems like a waste of money...for the average fisherman/hunter/what have you I don't see why an Igloo wouldn't suffice.

I'm not sure this is a tuna keeping chest. They are pretty small for that.
You can buy a LOT of ice for $400.

My neighbor has a Yeti that is as about wide as the bed on his F-250. Over 50", maybe even 60"? I'm not sure how many quarts it is, but you could put Jimmy Hoffa in it.
And, FYI, I'm pretty sure it cost more than $400...

Very few instances that I can see where you would need a yeti. IMHO, they are only good for the cool factor. That being said, I own a lot of shite due to the cool factor. I am spending a hell of a lot of money building a custom 270 strictly for the cool factor. In light of all this, I'm going to buy a Yeti in the morning. I hate you frickers.
