Belinelli's tender is worse than Posey's FA contract. Not much else to say.

frick.

I was hoping we'd just let everybody go and start from scratch.

Kind of like Lou Brown and the 1989 Cleveland Indians.

Championship!

3 mil for Belly sounds good. We can always find someone like Jason Smith. Good overall.

No..That money could be used much better. Like on someone who is consistent and can actually play defense.

It's not that bad - I hate him as much as anybody but $3M isn't horrible for a dude who might start.

Outside of stealing someone on their rookie contract you aren't likely to find someone consistent that plays defense at that price.

We're overpaying for him but, at the least, this guarantees we have a starter at 4 of 5 positions between him, CP3, Ariza, and Oak.

This is where Beli ranked among other shooting guard in the league in these categories.

3 point % (7th)(19th in the league)
3 pointers made (9th)(17th in the league)
FG % (4th)(26th in the league)
Points per shot (13th)
3 pointers attempted per game (13th-29th had the same # per game)
3 pointers made per game (12th)(24th in the league)
Minutes Per Game (30th)

These are pretty solid... Not saying he is the greatest or that he should be a starter right now but $3.3 million is good for the Hornets for a young guard who has been in the league for 4 years. Go look at the other contracts in the league of guys like him.

Wow somebody brought facts to a hyperbole fight.

Good stuff - belli is annoyIng but better than most think.

At worst he's 2nd off the bench. Most likely he's our starting 2

They don't have other guys like him in the league. Spot up shooters who don't defend, rebound, or impact the game in any way other than made three pointers don't stay in the league unless they can be counted on in the clutch.

Belinelli can not. That is why he will never be as valuable as players like Kapono, Korver, or Morrow. They make shots when it counts. Players like Belinelli play out their careers in Europe or China.

His Hornet's stop is only a mild deviation from his straight line trajectory that will take him from Golden State to Toronto to Europe.

Agreed. But what are our options at this point?

Our best shot is throwing up a hail Mary in free agency

I'm not saying he is great but 3 mil for a role player is about what he should be making. Jack makes 4.6, Landry is making 3, WG is making 4. What we gave him is what he deserves

his salary isn't too bad, but we need to make moves to get an impact 2 (for once)

marco at that salary is a solid 3rd guard
