I just had a friend email me a picture of a huge school of redfish off the coast of Dauphin Island, AL that was taken last weekend. I am at work and can't host them. Can I email them to someone so they can post the pics?

I saw this pic about 5-8 days ago.
Exact same pics.
Don't know where your friend got them from.

It came from a local guy here in mobile and it was forwarded to him. The only thing I know about it was that it was taken July 18th south of Dauphin Island.

It's not that uncommon. I've never personally seen them do this but I'm only down once or twice a year. I know several people that have seen them school up like that.

I was fishing wine island around cocodrie one morning and saw a school of bull reds moving down the beach..we caught two that were 30+ pounds..tried to stay with the school and fight the fish at the same time but the school was moving too quick.

That looks like a blast to be in the middle of. Buddy of mine said that they were heading out to ship island one day to spend the day on the island and came across a school like that. unfortunately they didn't bring any poles so they tried catching some in a net to no avail.

Last year?

FWIW - The fishing last weekend was really strange. There was an unbelievable amount of algae in the water south of Dauphin Island and the fish were not very active. Cleared up to the east though.
