I must say I was kind of surprised to hear them announce that they are the new home for Rice athletics. Just curious but that has got to be a huge deal for them as they were just starting up 3 or so years ago as an independent sports talk station. What say you fellow people of the MSB?

Anyways awesome for those guys

Not really seeing as they had OU football one year and LSU another.

They still have OU this year and have added Rice.

Not to mention it isn't only football it is baseball, basketball, etc.

The engagement with Rice is more ingrained in the community and they will be more than simply broadcasting the coverage’s of games.

What is impressive to me is that a start up business with a group of 12 guys has become a flag ship station for a University in three years.

As long as it doesn't mess with me daily radio programming, I'm cool with it.

Sort of, it was started by the two most popular sports radio host in Houston. They didn't exactly have to start from scratch.

they became affiliated with TSN radio a year or so ago and starting this year have basically been a TSN Network.

John and Lance in the morning are great, but the rest of their line up is meh. Sean Pendergast and Travis Rogers are just Jim Rome knock offs. John Harris, used to be paired with Sean P, he is a great FB analyist, but now he's on from 1 am - 5 am.

I'm still pissed they broke them up. Oh well it lets me listen to CP full time.

I thought this at first. But I really can't stand Jim Rome and I love Travis.

I did like Jim back in the day. And I guess that's why I like Travis.

Went to school with John Granato's wife. Ran into her in the lobby of the Anatole prior to the Cotton Bowl and she introduced me to him.

By chance, Miles got off the elevator and headed toward the bus to the stadium at this time, and Miles promised him a post game interview.

John said he was doing a weekly interview with Miles during the season. Will this continue now that they are Rice affiliated? And does the station still cover LSU?

They wanted U of H badly. They've been very open about that. They will still broadcast Sooner football and basketball I think.

They will still have interviews with Miles and Sumlin.

The Game didn't start from scratch. They had the backing from David Gow.
