Amazing defense in that game by the Saints. Especially the run defense.

Anyone remember how many yards they gave up all game? It was really low except for 1 long run by Turner (or was it Snelling).

Wonderful memories of this one, thrown out the Georgia dome before kickoff for such bullshite the likes of which this world has never seen, pushed in the back has the saints came out the tunnel by a falcons fan which caused me to spill my beer harmlessly on the ground, usher threw me out, even had falcons fans (including the one that pushed me) going to bat for me, usher on a power trip says want to go with him? Watched the rest of the game from my hotel, far and away the 4th most satisfying victory for me only behind the super bowl, nfccg, and mnf 06

When I was younger and they'd play some NFL Films on the previous season's games or recap a team, I thought "When are the Saints ever going to get on here." It's so great to be at the top.

I am currently watching this game and the first Falcons TD took them some time, but on the play before the TD where 2 fouls offset, I don't see how that can be called a shot to the head on Matt Ryan.

Saints had a good short scoring drive before that.

No runners are getting anywhere. Turner had one break, but that is it.

The Falcons fans think every good pass break up is a pass interference. And Jenkins is a worse offender than anyone defending him.

Reggie showed some good downhill running after his first break on punt returns. At 4 minutes in the second quarter if he wasn't snagged in the foot from behind, he was long gone.

Brees was pretty mobile in the pocket when he had to avoid pressure.

What do you mean by this? Like he played the ball more than the offense did?

Oh I got you. Roddy White is the push off king though.

WOW, what a terrible story! I hate it when security will not listen to reason...just dumb!

Perhaps this was the karma that the Saints needed for the victory though...we appreciate you doing your part

2nd Half:

A couple of plays to begin the half on the falcons drive players got up a little testy. Gotta love this rivalry!

At the 11:50 mark in the 3rd Quarter Porter was called on a not-so PI in that White was already on his way down. Then Porter does a definite PI, but he had to to prevent a TD. BTW why wasn't the pass to Moore in the 1st half in the end zone not PI, because he was blocking his view. Porter's penalty save eventually saved a TD.

Turner fumbles for the first time in +400 carries! And the Saints are great at goal line defense all season. Teams just didn't walk in on the first down. It's usually a battle. I remember more often then not the Saints taking the team to 3rd or 4th down.

The Falcons are doing such a good job on run defense (as are the Saints) that blockers are getting swarmed so much that the back behind them gets tackled in the backfield. It's not on Reggie. In fact, Reggie had an amazing block on a 3rd and 10 that kept Drew up and the play alive to get a 1st down to Meachem.

Morestead's worst kicks still travel a crazy amount of yards

Behind the back toss to PT. You think they had to practice drills like that or something. Dang! Oh yeah, then he does it again and it costs him. I love football. It's things like this where you think it's over because Atlanta has the lead. But we are still one up on the turnover margin.

Personal foul on Torrence for blocking a player in bounds on a KR?

Dang, a negated TD by a false start followed by a deflection then interception on Drew. Our team has poise. Turnovers are even now. Falcons blitzed every single play. I think they still have only 1 sack, but turnovers are better than sacks in football.

I find that Colston tries to do too much sometimes. He'll turn his head and take his eyes off the ball because he wants to pick up yards. Moore has sure hands.

You ready for Graham this season? Oh yeah! He just "fumbled" and there was an illegal hit on him.

PT one on one is a force!

Jenkins

Game 1: Saints lose by 3.
Game 2: Saints win by 3.

Love this rivalry and what it is becoming now that the Falcons are a force again. Can't wait until the season starts.
