I used to coach a 14 year old USSSA team in Louisiana. We played a team in the world series out of fort worth, Texas. They had a kid that was only thirteen, about 6'3", threw about 83, and was by far the best hitter, fielder (kid was unbelievable at short, especially for being as long as he was) in the tournament. He should have been a freshman last year in high school. Anyone know anything about him? I asked him where he wanted to go to school, and he said LSU. He was a mixed kid, believe his dad was straight from Jamaica.

No clue. Just remember they were from Fort Worth. Kid was an absolute stud, and was the youngest player on the field.

Yeah BUT you said you used to coach 14 yr olds, like it was a decade agao or something. Then you say he's a freshman this year...so I guess we have to assume "used to coach" means LAST frickING SUMMER. Cause everyone knows before a kid is 15 he is "A freshman in high school".

And just because the World Series was in Fort Worth, doesn't mean that all the teams there were from the city. Is it possible he was from another city?

Go to the USSSA site and look up the team...if it was a World Series, the info should be there.

If he was black or hispanic, then probably was 3 years older than everyone else.

I just looked it up and there are 2 things about this statement that don't sound right after looking into it. One there was only one world series in Baton Rouge and it was a 14AA world series, in which there usually no offense but don't have many if any stud players. Also there was only one team from Texas but they were from Crosly.

Tournament was held at Cypress Mounds. There were multiple teams from Texas. I did some research and found the team name. They were named the Coyotes. It was a AA tournament, and yes, there were many very, very good ball players.

AA?

Maybe this kid stood out because he should have been playing Major.......

Looking at the roster, it had to be this kid because no one else played Majors. It also looks like he was 13 playing up at the time:

Another World Series with multiple teams from the same city or state If you have the money, you qualify. Travel teams except Legion ball is a money maker and a joke.
