I was playing a guy online yesterday and a few things happened that seem very strange - almost as if it was cheating.

First, I have a money play with LSU if I'm playing somebody that blitzes a lot, where I hit Ridley on an outside/inside slant. Two times in a row, I hit the L1 button, and the ball shoots straight off to the left way past and no where near Ridley right into the hands of the safety for a pick six - two series in a row. It was as if I pressed the button to throw to the safety as a wide open receiver. I've never seen that on this game ever, since NCAA 05.

Second, tackling. This guy had some kind of setting to where when I went to tackle him, I was bouncing off like a pinball - 2, 3, 4 guys all doing it. It was ridiculous.

Not that it matters because I don't like the cheat to win aspect of the game, but is there some sort of setting or cheat code that makes these things happen? And if so, is there a cheat code I could put in to at least counter the tackling issue? I obviously gave up on the slant to Ridley after the 2nd pick six.

I play with LSU alot online and JJ seems to do this quite a bit if you're playing in hostile enviornments. His awareness on the game is poor as shite.

As far as the tackling issue, this is the first time I've heard of that happening. I've never experienced anything like that and I've had the game since it came out on day one of last year.

This.

As for the tackling, I've seen it happen before, but not very often. Who were you playing against? If it was Bama, Ingram is insanely overrated and can pretty much do anything most of the time.

It was Florida. I should have known not to play the guy because his record was ridiculous, like 80-10 or some shite like that.

It's happened to me with Ingram as well though. So it has to do with player rating and not some setting or slider?

Yea, pretty much. Sliders and settings are locked in for ranked games (I'm assuming it was ranked). But the guy does sound like a cheater if he had an 80-10 record, no one i've seen play is 70 games over .500.

I don't understand the whole cheating thing to win. How in the world is that fun?

To me, the best games are the ones that either go back and forth and hinge on a mistake, or the ones that are all defense/low scoring and you win by a last second field goal. I really don't mind losing if it was at least a fun game to play.

I could play the computer and go 14-0 and win the national title 5 seasons in a row, but that's not fun to me.

the florida running backs have insane BTK ability. i dont know what the actual ratings are but in my online dynasty, it was almost impossible to tackle those guys. i was getting pissed b/c i know they are quick and shifty, but a 5'8'' 175 lb running back should not be breaking 4 or 5 tackles a play. they would never go down on the first hit and then they are almost impossible to catch after that

JJ or JL shitty awareness and accuracy coupled with a little online lag.

The best players know how to break tackles via cover up plus highlight stick forward.

and that out and in slant play to the running back you really have to time it well also. a bad qb with bad awareness makes the play iffy

Which is why I use a heavy dose of Ridley when I'm on the road with LSU. In the friendly confines of TS I'm much more open to throwing the football

You got that right. I have it perfect most times, but this time it was ridiculous. The ball shot off straight to the safety. He didn't have to do anything from the snap but just stand there and press triangle to catch it - and was a good 5 yards away from Ridley. It definitely looked like some glitch.

By out and slant, do you mean the 4 verticals play out of the 5 wide formation as in you audibled to it?

You need to set your tackling to conservative in that situation.

I think he's talking about the play where the rb goes comes out of the backfield, then slants back to the middle, and sits down about 5 yards past the los.

This is it. It's in shotgun formation, I think "shotgun double". You have Ridley running that route, Shep runs an inside slant route as well a little farther out.

The angle play? Oh... I love that play. If you read zone, throw it when he is inbetween defenders. If you read man, throw it as soon as he makes his break. Works almost everytime if you don't over throw it.

Yep, that's it. On 3rd and short, it's money and almost un-stoppable. That's why it shocked the shite out of me when this happened yesterday.

There is a bit of lag in online play that throws my timing off. Doesn't seem to be your problem though if you play a fair amount.
