I know he played for bad Saints teams in the 70's butt he was still one of the best and most consistent QBs in the league foe over a decade.

What is it going to take to get him in the Hall of Fame?

Not enough wins.

No championships.

I love Archie, but his impact on the overall league was minimal. I don't judge his greatness by number of wins or number of championships. I know he's a great player. But that's how others will judge him. We see him differently because he was the best player on a bad team, and we saw what he could have potentially been. But that's not enough for the NFL Hall of Fame.

I seriously doubt he stays up late at night wondering why he isn't in the Hall of Fame. I'm pretty sure Archie is satisfied with who he is and who he was in football.

Questions like these make me realize how badly we need offseason activities.

Not enough stats either. 1 year he throws for 18 TDs, very good for early 70s, then he spends 3 years in a row with single digit TDs. Same problem with passer rating and yards. Archie had some real bad years mixed in with a few good ones.

Statistically Archie doesn't belong in the HOF.

I was there and appreciate him as much as anyone but c'mon. Ya don't make HOF on what could have been. Lifetime 125/173 INTs, 55% comp rate, and as mobile as was, he is #10 alltime in being sacked (yes, he was running for his life). 27 yrs after retirement is kinda late to think he could be worthy. He's never even been a HOF semi finalist.

I'd make a case for former Saint Ken Stabler before AM. 4 Pro Bowls, NFL MVP, Player of the Year, led the league in TDs a couple of times. QB in arguably the best era of the Raiders ever- playoffs 4 of the 7 years he started and led them to SB 11 win.

Because he is the most overrated Saint ever!!!! He wasnt that good at all. Both his sons are 80 times better QBs than he was (yes even Eli)

Archie's balls deserve to be in the HOF not him as a player.

Not sure if serious but this is true. Archie's legacy as a player is a bunch of fans and journalists who keep saying what if and bagging on his teammates...he was a below average QB...Aaron Brooks >>>>>>> Archie

Because he has more interceptios to touchdowns. In my opinion, Aaron Brooks and Jim Everett were better quterback than him.
