I am heading down there Friday. I have never been there, and was hoping that I could get some ideas where the reds should be. Any help/advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Head to roll-over landing just on hwy 82 west. It's a couple miles past pecan island food store. Bring your cast net and get your limit of shrimp. Also bring your crabbing gear. Catch some reds there as well. Hit the far back dam and fish Carolina rig on bottom with shrimp. You will be on a big oyster bed and water is about 12 ft deep there. We always catch in this spot. Just make sure you are on a rising tide.

If you want to go a lil farther you can go to Rockerfeller refuge. It's only another 20 minutes or so past rollover.

My buddies and I have been fishing this place for several years and always bring home some fish! Hope this helps you out

What kind of boat? There are some close platforms that hold specs if you put in at freshwater city. Also, don't get too drunk at coastal bar

I think we are going in a boat big enough to handle 3-4 foot.

Why not get too drunk at the bar?

The upside is they leave early because they have to go heat up the parafin to clean the ducks with.

Anywhere on the south end of freshwater canal is excellent red fishing! Just launch by the locks at freshwater city.
