Has Game of Thrones reached LOST level on this board?

I know it has for me personally, and I never thought another show would have me as hooked for the next episode and/or so invested in characters.

I am an avid reader, but I am avoiding the books until each season has completed. I look forward to each episode that much. I hope that guy can keep churning out some books.

I am so giddy for tonight, i had to get it out of my system.

Too much bickering from people about it at this point taking away from the discussion.

Yes.

This board was fairly quiet about Lost during it's first season. There was discussion and stuff but not the amount I am seeing for GoT's inaugural season

This board had the same number of posters in 2004, did it?

I think it's going to be similar to LOST in fecundity of discussion if the book veterans and newcomers can reconcile. LOST was not without its spoiler-seekers... I think Tiger Ryno got banned for posting shite he found on fansites.

I don't think I've read something before that made less sense.

I can see if you weren't a reader, but this isn't one of those very rare cases where the series is the equal/superior to the book.

All you are doing is spoiling the twists and turns when you do read them. Which especially sucks as the series has some of the best character development I've ever experienced in a novel. Most of which ends up on the cutting room floor in the series.

LOST is easily my favorite show of all time but Game of Thrones is quickly catching up.

Heh....this season was just a stage setting preamble.

Just wait.

Winter is coming.

Anyone read the books?

I'm thinking about getting some for beach reading so I can get my fix before season two comes out.

If you read these books on the beach you will get some strange looks especially when you jump up cussing crow hop and pitch the book 20 yds out to sea.

SPOILERS

For some reason I love the part when Jaime is at Riverrun, and throws Cersei's letter in the fire as snow begins to fall.

It just seems so appropriate end to all of the turmoil and shaking up that has happened so far
