Randy Rosetta reporting that PM has confirmed Matty Ott intends to sign with the Red Sox. Congrats to Matty and best of luck in the future.

Even though he struggled, he was still a stand-up kid. I can't remember if it was the Florida blown save or Arkansas, but the CST announcer commented about how he gave an interview afterward, even though he is not required to.
He never blamed anyone else for his struggles, and he deserves his record and other accolades!!!

With all that movement on his fastball, he needs to accomplish one thing and he'll succeed - hit your spots.
Oh yeah, and never groove it down the middle.

This sucks, because I think we now have a pitching coach who could of given him the coaching he needs without even being in the minors. However, a lot of people turned on him the past two seasons plus the money doesn't hurt either. Good Luck to him.

Yeah, I was looking forward to this new pitching coach working with him. If the money is good I can't blame him for locking it in given his struggles the last few years, but I was hoping he would return to his freshman form next year with coaching.

No surprise, 13th round for the Red Sox was a done deal from the beginning in my mind. That's his best deal he's going to get.

Exectly. Berry hung three straight pitches in that last at-bat on that Saturday nights game. The first one he pulled about 350 feet foul down the left field line. The second one he fouled straight back. The third one, a 12 year old could have hit out of the ballpark. He just floated it up there about 85 mph. That game made me more mad than any game all season!
