Planning a weekend trip to Dallas and I'd like to stay in an area with easy access to good food and nightlife. Are there any places with a perkins rowe type setup of restaraunts, bars, shops, etc? Looked around the Galeria, and i guess that would work but i'd rather something more along the line of perkins rowe than mall of La. Also any other food and drink/nice area of town suggestions would be appreciated.

I guess if that's really what you're looking for, Mockingbird Station fits the bill. It's shops/restaurants/movie theatre etc....If you're really balling, get a room at Palomar across the street. Otherwise I'd look somewhere else.

Good area for food and drinks. A lot of foot traffic at night. There are some shops around there too. Northpark is about 5-10 min north of all that if you want a nice mall.

I'll check it out. I was looking at hotels in market center since there are tons of them there and its pretty central. I'll have my car so driving isn't a problem as much as drinking then driving is. Appreciate the help.

If you want to stay in Uptown, The Stoneleigh Hotel isn't bad. Not amazing for the price, but not bad, plus you're a short cab ride or medium walk to whatever you want along McKinney or in the West Village.
