Do they even think about trade situations when they talk about these things? They said they need to make a move to try to keep Dwight and getting CP3 seems to always be the one that comes up, but who besides Dwight would anyone want to trade for on the Magic? The Hornets would be stupid to take any offer from Orlando that doesn't involve Dwight.

Well, everyone outside of NOLA is convinced CP3 is pissed and wants out of NOLA, likes it's a Carmello situation. It's not. CP3 has given every indication that he wants to stay, and at the least he hasn't given off vibes that he 100% wants to leave.

ESPN just assumes he wants out (mainly because it makes the sports news world more interesting). If you have that mindset, then you're thinking the Hornet's are going to take what they can get, rather than just having Paul up and walk out, and not get anything in return.

They need to stop being dumbasses and realize CP3 isn't leaving.

CP3 not leaving = No trade involving cp3

CP3 leaving = A ton of trade considerations that we normally wouldn't even think of taking.

I don't think Orlando even has a 1st round pick.

If his goal is to win a title in his prime, which I believe is his goal, he will not win it with the Hornets within the next three years or so. The only way the Hornets will compete for a title in the future is to build their team through the draft. Superstar FA aren't going to come and play here and I'm sure CP3 knows this already. There's no reason for him to come out and demand a trade b/c he holds all the leverage. I believe he's sitting back and will guage to see what moves will be made to improve the team this year and if they aren't significant improves he will opt out and play where he can compete.

They are such an old team, I just don't see what they would have to offer anyone.

The way I like to look at things, is to decide what side of the issue I'd bet my next year's salary on.

CP3 hasn't given any indication that he wants to leave, nor has he pulled some sort of Carmello move to be traded. He seems to like it here and seems to have faith in the current ownership/GM to make some moves in the next couple years to help out the team substantially. This is what ESPN and the rest of the sports media are failing to see/understand.

So I'm under the impression he's staying, thus I wouldn't trade him for anyone on the Magic team, except for Howard, and even then, I'd still rather have CP3 than Howard.

Outside of Dwight, they don't really have anybody I would want.

For the Hornets to trade CP3, it would have to be a hell of a deal. Orlando doesn't have the pieces.
