There's a frog hunting season?!?! WTF.

I'm guessing the LDWF will be coming to my door soon after I killed one in my backyard a few weeks ago...

Just to add that April-May is their breeding season. When we had crawfish lakes THAT was the time to get 'em. They bunch up.

Sitting on the front of a crawfish boat you can run right up on them and reach out to grab them. They usually won't go under until the wake hits them. 50 a night is nothing.

I need to find a new frog hole up here. Clear lake used to be the hot spot but too many people found out about it. Whats ya'lls method of catching? We usually used the gig on a painters pole.

The public areas get hit so hard here it is almost impossible to catch any frogs.

February/March is when I do it. Not sure I'd like it in the heat. Got stung by a bunch of wasps once and never went back in the warm months.

We have 50 acres of crawfish ponds, 50 acres of rice and I have access to 100 more acres of crawfish ponds the neighboring farmer told me I could frog in....
Just have to round up a few buddies with beer and its on.

I am sure the farmer would be ecstatic if you took a few hundred frogs out of his ponds. Bullfrogs love to eat baby crawfish.
