Got a room booked on a saturday night at the roosevelt, and was thinking about trying the MiLa summer tasting menu. Any reviews for it or suggestions of other places near the hotel?

Your idea sounds excellent. Also look into Le Foret for another nearby fine dining experience.

At the Roosevelt, Domenica is a nice little place that is casual.

Don't miss having a cocktail at the Sazerac bar at the hotel before you head out.
The pool area and spa set up is pretty good there, but if you want to knock her socks off, see if you can get her a nice spa package at the Ritz across the street.

Grabbing a cocktail will probably be the first thing I do after we check in

The menu online doesn't list wine pairings. Does anyone know if they have them with their tasting menu?

Pretty sure they do. I seem to recall several people saying that the tasting menu with the wine pairing was a very good value.

Me too. I don't eat seafood but id eat anything they sent out. Shrimp, scallops, lobster. I wouldn't eat anything but the tasting menu.

I've never been before but have been wanting to try the place and figured the tasting menu would be a good start.

A jacket isn't required is it?

Take her to Galvez for dinner -- excellent Spanish food and a gorgeous view of the river. And to Tonique on Rampart for a drink or two.

I usually wear a Oxford and tie but that's not even a requirement. I've seen people there in just polo shirts. I'd suggest the wine pairing also. It's like an extra $100 but they do a great job pairing with each dish. Even dessert.

We went once without the wine pairing and ended up spending more than if we would have just got the pairing fwiw.

There's also a pretty cool bar in hotel Monteleone. The bar slowly rotates around.

Yea my family always loved going to the carousel bar at the monteleone, but the wife and I will be getting drinks at the sazerac before dinner.

You must have been feeling pretty good leaving there if you had a glass with all 6 courses.
