I'm sorry but any beer over 400 years old has probably gone bad.

Hey, it may be an old recipe but right now it tastes like more.

Had it this weekend in Ft Collins, pretty good. NB did have some others that I thought were better, but it is like picking the best looking tiger girl.

Did you like their IPA? It's on my list to try. Which others did you like?

Not really an IPA fan so I wouldn't be the best judge. Did have the Tripple in a Brew-mosa and thought it was decent, not really an IPA, but it was hoppy. The Sunshine Wheat was above average for a wheat beer and the Abbey was really good.

We had several of the Lips of Faith series, the Super Cru is one that stuck out. The wench (yeah I'll call her that because she doesn't know who I am) billed it as a double Fat Tire. It does taste like Fat Tire, but with more of a punch. After a couple it did have some sour notes though.

Odell Beers are also big in Ft Collins. Liked the 5 barrel pale ale and the 90 Shilling was pretty good. The other I think was the Red Ale, meh take it or leave it.

There is no shortage of breweries or beers to try up there. Unless you live it that area it is hard to find a lot of the brews though.

ETA, someone needs to bring the brew-mosa to BR...I'm looking at you Mason's. 1/2 beer (figure blue moon would work) 1/2 OJ and an orange slice.

New Belgium is one of my favorite breweries for their lips of faith series alone. I have two more bottles of Ranger IPA at home from a 6 pack I got in Houston a few weeks ago. It is damn good, and while I enjoy a good IPA, I'm not huge on them like some people. It is very smooth, well balanced, and very flavorful (not just another bitter beer).

Some of my favorites from New Belgium are La Folie (sour beer), Le Terroir (sour beer dry hopped). These two are always on my list when I'm in Texas. I also enjoy sharing a bottle of Transatlantique Kriek with Mrs. tetu for desert after a good meal.

I lived in Ft Collins for 2.5 years. If you can get your hands on some O'dells beers (also brewed in Ft. Coll) you will love them...they are far better than NBB...IMO. If you ever see a bottle of New Belgium's "Bierre de Mars"...buy it. It is a seasonal beer, and it is delicious.

Thinking about moving up there. How is it for families? I got a few friends up there and figure nothing can be worse than BR for raising a kid.

Just look at the crime rate and that should sell you. Tons of activities, probably more restaurants than NOLA per capita, really active lifestyle.

Still chilly this time of year, snows, and most housing looks like arse.

If I had the desire to move somewhere I would put it on the list.

Yeah we're just looking to get out of the south for a few years. I saw they had less than 10 murders in the past 5 years combined. We had that beat by February this year.

Housing didn't look bad. Alot of older homes though. Maybe $20k-$40k more than a comparable home in Dutchtown/Prairieville area. Not sure about schools though.

They have great outdoor activities in the area though which is a major plus in my book. Also 4 breweries isn't bad either. Wife wants somewhere where we get snow part of the year near mountains and nice summers.

4? Good many more than that in the area the size of BR. We went to four and that isn't even any of the major ones.

I rarely drink past a buzz, but a month or two back I was at a bar up in Nashville with this on tap and got stupid drunk off of it. I just left my bike chained up and and crawled in to a cab. A solid beer - and a solid hangover. A++ Will Drink Again!.
