Just flipped to FSC and saw this Gary Neville thing was on. Is this just a tribute to the guy before he retires? Why would they have this 5 days before the CL Final? Being slightly new to soccer, I've never seen a testimonial before.

Also, I've noticed posters making jokes about Neville. While watching his highlights before this game started, it seemed like a lot of them were fouls where he didn't even touch the ball to make tackles. Is he just known as a dirty player?

1 - I watch every United game because I relish every loss they endure.

2 - There's nothing else on (the better reason for watching).

Yeah considering the amount of knees, shins, and feet that will now be protected from his dirty arse tackles.

Tell your boy to stay in Manchester. We don't want his trash back in town.

Technically Neville retired in February.

Testimonials are pretty common for players who spent at least 10 years at a club. At 26, Gareth Barry was awarded a testimonial at Aston Villa a few years ago since he started in the squad in 1997 (although I think it was canceled when MON stripped him of the captaincy).
