Comment From Brett
Is LSU in the field as of now? What do they need to do this weekend to ensure a spot?

Brett,
Not in the least. Tigers still have much work to do and will need a lot of luck to get into the postseason field. Despite having a solid RPI, the Tigers are 4-9 vs. RPI Top 25, 9-17 vs. RPI Top 50 and 15-17 vs. RPI Top 100 Additionally, the Tigers still have a horrid conference record. LSU has to win the State series to even have a remote shot of reaching the NCAA postseason, IMO.

How is this different from what everyone has been saying?

I tend to agree with him on this point. We need this next series. Don't want to be on the bubble, and lose your last series. We need to be seen as a team on the rise.

I pretty much agree with him.....win 2 of 3 or go home basically.

Last six: Louisiana-Lafayette, Central Florida, Tulane, N.C. State, East Tennessee State, Southeastern Louisiana
Next 10: Kansas State, LSU, Texas Tech, Sam Houston State, Florida Atlantic, Dallas Baptist, UAB, St. John's, College of Charleston, Western Kentucky

The above is from his last weeks regional projections!

Didn't seem to far out of a regional last week!

Very wrong.

RPI in the low 20s doesnt get left out, period. We would have to be swept to be kept out of the NCAAT by MSU. Win 1 of 3 and it may be close but we get in still (RPI in the mid-high 20s). Win 2 or 3 and we're definitely in.

Is Templeton on the committee? He screwed us last time. It all depends on who's representing the SEC on the committee.

I don't think SEC gets 10 teams in but I think 9 is doable and I think LSU can be in that 9.

UGA not finishing 500 would really help LSU cause.

LSU could still sneak in if a bubble sec team goes 2 and bbq in Hoover

LSU has a high 20 rpi - you can bet they will take that into consideration.

Sweeping CSF will be the difference in my opinion of LSU's hopes on top of playing Fla and Vandy who are up there

LSU is no different than a 15 to 25 ranked team that didn't play Fla, Vandy and Fullerton

With that said if LSU is not in then its on LSU. Too many close games where LSU didn't get it done.

Beating Fla and Ark once would have made it a no brainer and those two gut wrenching losses will probably be the difference

Good thing he is not on the Selection Committee. Kendall has been crapping on LSU all season, even when we were playing well before SEC play.

To me it's the use of the word remote. If LSU wins the series this weekend, they have a very good chance of making a regional.

he said we're gonna need a lot of luck to make the NCAAT. I think we're in if we win 2/3 against State. that would make us 13-17 in the toughest conference in America and would give us prob a top 25 RPI. Kendall always tries to be a downer on LSU in any way he can, has done it for years. The year we won the national title, he continually wasn't "sold on us being a national seed," regardless of who we were beating week in and week out.

This is what I keep leaning towards.

I think we are in either way. a 3 seed.

Im referring to the guy who said he was crapping on us before we started playing bad. He wasnt crapping on us, all he said was our schedule was weak. 100% truth and we know what happened once it got tough.

I would love for Kendall Rogers try to tell us how many teams with an RPI in the 20-25 range has been left out in the last 5 years.
