Does anyone have an idea on how much flooding the area of Ferriday, La. is expected to get? I'm trying to decide if I need to move the travel trailer from the deer lease. Thx.

65' crest. Highest it's ever been was 58.4 in 1927. Yeah, I would move it. People are moving out of their houses in Vidalia if that gives you any indication.

Yeah, that's what I heard but I didn't know if the flood waters would reach past Vidalia area but I guess better to be safe than sorry...

The area we hunt is outside the levee by several miles (west of Vidalia).

If you're trailer is insured, I wouldn't move it.
If not, move it.

I don't have insurance on it, I guess I'm gonna make the drive up this weekend to pick it up.

NWS had a nice projected flood map of the Natchez area here yesterday. I don't see it today, but it's probably still on the site somewhere.

LINK

Gonna get up to 65'. It hit the high 50s a few years ago and was on the old mat field on the vidalia side.

Deer park and all that area will be fricked, but the fishing will be incredible once the river goes down.

If it is several miles outside the levee, then I would imagine you would be fine as long as the levee doesnt break esp if its not in a bottom or anything....

I think he is worried about the old river around lake st john and concordia. The back side of that is prone to flooding.

I have a place on Lk St. John. The oldtimers tell me it did not flood in 1927. I think the projected river level/crest surpasses what it reached in 27. To be on the safe side I would go get it. For what its worth I emptied my lake house yesterday.

Just found out a camp I've been invited to a few times on Davis Island has 1' water in the first floor.

Palmyra, and I don't know the relative height of that one camp/house compared to others.

It's a given that Davis Island floods. One camp I frequent is built on a man made hump and that's about the only place that doesn't flood with the exception of some high spots on the ridge road.

When the river starts falling and reaches a "certain level", the fishing is awesome...basically unmatched.
