Florida 58 LSU 3 - How could this happen?

I can't believe the program ever sunk to these tenebrous depths. Curley Hallman must have been clinically retarded. Nothing else could explain fielding such an inept team in a state that produces a disproportionate volume of football talent. And Joe Dean was complicit: a cheap, crooked dunce. Christ, I cringe just watching the highlights. Living through this as a Tiger fan must have seemed liked a surreal nightmare.

By the way, I must pay my sincerest thanks to rnolan53, whoever he or she may be, for taking the time to post brilliant digests and highlights of numerous LSU games on Youtube. You are making the offseason pass much more quickly than it otherwise would.

Right, I am just stunned that the stewards of the LSU football program ever allowed such a precipitous decline. That level of neglect deserved an inquest or an indictment.

What are you? A fricking masochist? Most of us have tried to repress that memory since the day it happened.

FYI - We lost to Florida 41-9 and 44-15 in Saban's first two years (Spurrier's last two years at Florida). Saban couldn't beat Florida until Spurrier left. That 44-15 spanking was the same year we won the SEC title (I was at that game; it wasn't as close as the score indicated).

I went to this game with a Gator friend of mine. It was truly miserable. We were in better spirits after the 2001 game even though the results were almost as bad.

Dude, you need to chill. Curley didn't want to suck as bad as he did. It's not his fault that no one knew how good Brett Favre really made him look at USM.

I think he was bipolar. Most of you should be glad you weren't alive or didn't have access to really how bad it was back then.

Tiger Rant would have been fine, fans would have come to expect it. Now if LSU went through another lull like that after the past 10 winning seasons then Tiger Rant wouldn't survive.

I remember going to games in 90's and not thinking LSU would win but hoping LSU would be competitive.

Nobody remembers the 20001 game because everyone had left by the 3rd quarter.
