Need to find a decent home insurance with affordable yearly premiums, preferably around 1200 a year. I know I know, it all depends on the house and location,etc... But comparatively speaking, I have gotten a quote from state farm at $1800/yr and ASI Lloyd at $1300/yr. There are so many flipping options but I don't want my credit run a million times. Any suggestions for reliable but inexpensive ins companies? Care to tell your yearly premium?

Wow. That sounds lovely. Is your home value above or below 170?

Find an Independent Insurance Agent in your area. They can run lots of quotes without getting your credit run a million times.

Home value is above 170. I do have a lot of discounts as I have my auto insurance through Liberty Mutual also. Being that my wife and I both have a college degree also lowers our premium. New Construction, home alarm and even having a fire extinguisher also lowers the premium.

Wow, I might be gettin a fire extinguisher then! We both have degrees, house 11 yrs old is probably the kicker. My ASI lloyd quote was from an agent that reps several companies, so he should be able to get me more quotes without running my credit again?

I didn't know that part. If you got several quotes from an agent you may have the best info available.

Well we got a separate quote straight from state farm. The other agent only gave me one quote. My wife made the call to him while I was at work yesterday, so she didn't tell him to pull multiple Quotes. He doesnt rep liberty mutual tho, I may look into liberty mutual. Would a house being 11 years old mak a huge difference rather than a new construction?

Probably not. The big issues are the ages of major items, such as the roof, the HVAC unit, the water heater, and the type of wiring in the house (at 11 years you probably have copper wiring).

there are a lot of ways to get other discounts, proximity to a fire station, even getting better deadbolt locks on your doors. Anyway you can decrease your liability as well, fenced in yard and etc.

If you have good credit with clean driving record, try getting a auto/home package with Hanover. (through independent agent)

Just an FYI having agents run insurance quotes is considered a soft pull and doesn't show on your report or affect your credit.
ASI has really good rates and you can combine your auto with Progressive.
I just switched to Progressive from State Farm for the wife and I and we saved over $115 per month just on auto.

Do you qualify for USAA? insured fr $225, premium is about $600/yr. This includes new home (built in 2008) and multiple policy (car, home, life)

And you can't beat their customer service. I'd put it against any other company.
