Did a little pond fishing with the gf at my friends ranch about an hour northwest of houston. The water was about 6ft low but the fish didn't seem to mind. I caught 22 in about 2 and a half hours. Took some convincing but also got my gf to shoot a gun for the first time

And that's a damn good sized tank... You can probably get some really good sized bass in there.

i guess "pond" wasn't really the right word, it's about a 30 acre man-made lake. Was catching mainly 1-2 pounders with the biggest being about 3. They've caught a few around the 6 pound mark but they're tough to come by, it's probably a little over stocked. Gonna head back out there tomorrow to try to do a little bowfishing for gar on a river/creek that runs through the place. It'll be my first crack at bowfishing so I'm looking forward to it.

Bowfishing is a damn good time.

And it does sound overstocked. Y'all could probably stand to take over 100 bass out of there and it would greatly improve the fishery. 13" and under though.

Damn, Sir. And, yes, I'm calling you "Sir" for posting SO pics without request. That's operating at a higher level, Sir.

Was able to get back out there today...didn't have any luck bowfishing; i had my chance with a few gar but they were quick and i'm still adjusting to shooting without sights and having to adjust for the refraction. I'll definitely give it another shot one of these day.

Caught another 15 bass and 1 giant sacalait. Kept around 10 of them and fried 'em up for dinner

Nice fish, I'd love to have a place like that to fish.

That is a big arse sac-au-lait.
