How do they decide? They don't have caddyshack on instant but have caddyshack 2. Also, no trading places or coming to America but shitty suggestions that are streamed.

Studios aren't going to let netflix stream movies if they think they can get more money from you by buying or renting it, than they would get from netflix.

I just started my account yesterday. The streaming selection is pretty disappointing.

I can't find any of the newer movies (the reason why I signed up was to watch Black Swan). I guess I should have known this before going in. But at least it's a free trial.

Well no... Black Swan won't even be available for DVD until 4/26/11

However, the instant selection is rather large unless all you want to watch is recent blockbuster movies.

I mean at first I only used netflix to watch TV shows and new movies. However, then I started expanding things and found many hidden gems I would have never heard of. I've gone from that same mindset that you have to loving the instant selection and finding new gems each week (granted I find some downright horrible movies as well)

This is half the fun of instant for me. Also, the number of documentaries I watch has skyrocketed since I got Netflix.

I've learned that there's a documentary for damn near everything on Netflix.

It is about a 1:1 ratio for me... I mean for every horrible movie I find, I find something I can at least watch. Then I will eventually find something that I really like.
For awhile I was sticking to smaller movies by actors I knew (Val Vilmer, Ryan Phillippe) and those were really good. Then I started expanding with movies of people I never heard of.
Currently I have 85 things on my instant queue and that is counting the condensed television shows.

People who complain about Netflix streaming, aren't worthy of having Netflix IMO. Seriously, complaining about $8 a month for streaming They need to open their minds to different genres. And the TV show selection is pretty damn solid.

This.

It's the ultimate example of the modern spoiled American. $8 a month to have instant access to an amazing number of critical favorites and award winning movies. ...and they bitch.

It's as if they were offered a free meal at Ruth's Chris and were insulted to find that they couldn't order a Big Mac.
