Grilling Kabobs
Posted by The realpurpangold on 4/18/11 at 3:25 pm00
what does the board reccommend I put on them? Bell peppers, onions, steak, chicken? Also any grilling tips? Made some last night came out pretty good seasoned w/ standard s/p, olive oil and was looking to take things up a notch for next time. Thanks.

My favorite is zuchinni, tomato, onion, red or yellow bell pepper, and sirloin tips.
Spice it any way you like. Last ones I did were brushed with teriyaki and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

just make sure to separate your meats from your veggies
chicken all together
steak all together
veggies all together

THIS
It come from up in New York. My sis in law gave me some of this and I went to the spiedie fest there. Good stuff. Real good on pork, deer, chicken, beef.
I have said this many times here that this is legit.

different cook times for veggies and meats. especially if you are doing steak or beef.
And meat tastes like meat and veggies taste like veggies. Two other things for "better kabobs" is to double skewer the item and to leave some space between each piece on the skewer.

Has anybody tried making them with sausage? Also - I didn't run into any problems having the meats and vegtables mixed together.

I'll usually nuke my veggies(tri color peppers, onion, tomato, mroom) just a minute before I put them on the kabob. This way i can put them all on the kabob and my veggies are tender, how i like them and my steak isnt overcooked.
pineapple is good with chicken especially seasoned with jerk seasoning.
oranges are good with pork, especially with blackened seasoning
bacon wrapped meats & veggies
spicy peppers
