Scope mounts question for a Marlin Model 60...

Not sure if I should go with low or medium mounts for a 33mm objective scope on the Model 60.
Will the scope have enough room between the objective and the gun with low mounts?

Not sure about height but you should look into see through mounts... it's nice to be able to see the iron sights too.

Yeah, I was contemplating that as well.

The proper scope ring height depends on the scope/rings combination. What type of scope and rings are you considering? You can look at a chart on the scope ring manufacturers website to find the proper ring for your scope. In general, I like my scopes to be mounted as close to the barrel/action as possible, w/o touching either. It's a matter of preference, but I've never used, nor wanted, see through mounts. For rings to be see through, the rings are rather high. Using see through mounts, one may have to lift the chin up and off the buttstock to sight through the scope. I've never liked that, although some swear by them. Try see through mounts before you buy them.
