Watching Father of the Bride and Annie is such a bitch. George isn't asking for a lot, however 143,000 dollars (especially in 1991) for a wedding is a little much. She then throws a huge bitch fit because he expresses this to her.

Holy shite, my cousin had the greatest reception ever, and it cost her that much and her father is a multi, multi-millionaire to where it was chump change. Steve Martin, while well-off in the film, doesn't seem as if he's loaded out the arse. Top it off with the bitch literally coming back from being abroad for 3 months and just meets the guy there, and he literally just got finished paying for her college. So yeah this kinda changes my opinion on the film and makes me see her as a pretty big bitch. I would certainly not allow them to get married that quickly, especially if I'm going to have to be eating Ramen for a few months to pay for the wedding.

George was really the only person with any sense in that movie, but he was kind of a puss about the things that were unnecessary expenses.

been awhile since I've seen that movie, but I don't remember that there was a bottom line cost given for it. This seems amazingly excessive for what they got.
