He had on an LSU t-shirt at the grocery this morning and a Mountaineer fan approached him and they began chatting about the game this fall in Morgantown. He said the guy really enjoyed his time in Baton Rouge and loved the food, atmosphere, etc.

The guy then begins talking about his friend that owns a restaurant/bar not far from the stadium and how he has been briefed on purchasing more liquor than usual for the LSU fans. My buddy was basically like "whatever he normally orders, multiply it by 30." He said the guy started smiling and laughed, and my buddy was like "no, really", and the guy was like oh shite.

These WVU businesses have no clue about the alcohol consumption headed their way....

Reading comprehension goes a long way...the LM friend in the LSU shirt didn't say "oh shite" - it was the WV guy who knows the bar owner.

All I know is that we colored the Seattle folks impressed. Those people had no clue what was about to go down.

The morning after the Cotton Bowl we went to eat breakfast at the restaurant that had hosted the LSU pregame party. The waitress said the place was still in shock from the massive numbers of LSU fans.
She said they could have had a circus tent outside and still not had enough room. She went on to say what great tippers LSU fans were. Even the big cowboy games didnt come close to the LSU fans turn out.

We were at the Ram Brewery and they ran out of every type of beer except the kind they brew there. They sent an employee on a run to a liquor store down the road.

we drank a bar empty in Atlanta for the SEC CG in 2001 and 2003. The owners were even LSU fans and still unprepared.

Yes! I remember waiting on my luggage at the airport and the guy standing next to me was talking to a buddy of his and I overhear,"No, I'm serious! They drank all the beer on the plane! I've never seen anything like it! Seattle won't know what hit it."

If I were a bar owner in Morgantown, I'd get on the phone with some of my counterparts in Knoxville....when I was there in 2006, just about every bar in town had a refrigerated trailer parked next to it!!!!!
